On May 17, 2015, Wild South will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Sipsey Wilderness with a dedication of a new kiosk at the Borden Creek Trailhead in the Bankhead National Forest. A plaque in honor of former Congressman Ronnie Gene Flippo of Florence, Alabama, the sponsor of legislation that expanded the Sipsey Wilderness in 1988, will be unveiled.
