When was the last time you climbed the Central Fire Tower in Bankhead National Forest? We bet it’s been a while…
National Public Lands Day is Saturday, September 29. Come out to the Bankhead National Forest (Alabama) and celebrate with Wild South!
On September 29, people all over America will be celebrating their public lands by participating in volunteer work projects. Here in the Bankhead National Forest, Wild South will lead a project that will improve the roadside condition of the Wilderness Parkway (Highway 33), which forms part of the eastern boundary of the Sipsey Wilderness, and then provide a picnic lunch and a chance to climb the fire tower afterwards. Everyone is invited!
