Hike in Lost Cove Wilderness
August 17, 2019 @ 9:30 am

Join Wild South for a scenic guided hike in Lost Cove Wilderness!
Saturday, August 17th
Where to Meet: Meet at the Gragg Prong Falls trailhead at 9:30 am. (See directions below)
Hike Details: Join Wild South and Jake from Trout Unlimited for a scenic guided hike in the Lost Cove Wilderness Study Area. Come experience this area’s amazing waterways on this out-and-back hike, which will take us past two cascades — Gragg Prong Falls & Hunt Fish Falls!
Level of Difficulty: This hike will be approximately 5.5 miles roundtrip, and is rated as moderately challenging with significant elevation gain. Expect rocks and roots underfoot, as well as several creek crossings. All ages are welcome.
What to Bring: A backpack with lunch, snacks, and plenty of drinking water (we recommend at least 2 liters). Dress appropriately for the weather, and wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes that can get wet. Trekking poles are optional, but welcome.
Tick Protection: For protection against ticks, we recommend Permanone or Sawyers. These are effective permethrin products to be sprayed on clothing only (not on skin), and must be left to dry for 4 hours prior to wearing. These products don’t have a strong odor (like other sprays), allowing you to enjoy all the good smells of the forest.
Cost: Wild South hikes are always free of charge, but are made possible by generous individual donations!
RSVP Required: Email jeanette@wildsouth.org or call/text (609) 790-1382. Please include your phone number and the number of people in your party when signing up.
We can’t wait to see you on the trail!
