Join Wild South staff for a short, fairly easy nature hike in the Bankhead National Forest

Destination:  Sipsey Recreation Area Trail and Sipsey Fork

Leader:  Janice Barrett

Distance:  Approx. 1.5 miles roundtrip, or less

Level of Challenge:  About as easy as it gets in the Bankhead

All ages are welcome!

Focus will be on observation and exploring the natural wonders of the area we are in, being in or near the water, enjoyment of the sandstone canyon topography of our Bankhead National Forest.  This will be a good opportunity for sketching, journaling, or simply sitting and breathing in the beauty.

Meeting at the trailhead or somewhere along the way instead of meeting at the Wild South office is an option for the convenience of those coming from south of Moulton.

Bring a daypack with lunch, snacks and drinking water.  You may also consider bringing a camera, sketch pad, book, journal, pen, etc.

There is a $3 per car day-use fee at the kiosk in the parking lot.

Dogs are not allowed on this hike.  Thank you for being considerate of others and not smoking during our hikes.
