Join botanist and Wild South volunteer Kevin England on an afternoon hike on a section of the old Randolph Motorway and Sipsey Wilderness trail 201 this coming Saturday afternoon! Trail 201 is especially beautiful on autumn afternoons as the sunlight comes through the oak, hickory and sourwood trees from the west.
The hike will begin at the Randolph trailhead on Cranal Road.
Bring a backpack with
- drinking water
- snacks
- binoculars
- field guide(s): birds, plants
Dogs on Wild South hikes must be well-behaved, socialized, and must remain leashed at all times.
After signing up, meet at the Warrior Mountains Trading Company at 11312 AL Hwy. 33, Moulton, AL (see link above for map) at 1:00 p.m. Park on the south end of the building and come into the store. Meet leader Kevin at the Wild South picnic table toward the back of the store promptly at 1:00 for a brief chat and introductions before departing for the trailhead.
Wild South hikes are free of charge, but there will be a donation bucket on the picnic for those who feel inclined to make a donation to our Volunteer Wilderness Ranger Program. Thank you!
