Trail: Sipsey Wilderness Trail #207, the Braziel Creek Trail.
Distance: At least 5 miles
Description of activity: Using handtools to cut away encroaching vegetation and to remove trail blockages.
Be prepared to hike on a wilderness trail while carrying tools and performing trail maintenance. There will be blackberry vines, so long sleeves are recommended, as are closed-toe shoes.
Tools and hardhats will be provided. If you have a hardhat, hand pruners or loppers you are welcome to bring them.
Bring a backpack with lunch, snacks, drinking water and work gloves.
We will cross Borden Creek. The water should be pretty shallow.
We are grateful to our funders who make our Helping Hands Volunteer Program possible: Major donors, individual donors, The National Forest Foundation, The Walker Area Community Foundation.
