Linville Gorge Trail Gets a Good Brushing
June 28, 2017 The real reason we need more youth volunteers on the National Forests: trail work can be really difficult! It takes youthful energy to hike down 1,200 feet into Linville Gorge, spend the day clearing brush off trails, then hike back up with an 85 pound tire around your neck. These three kids are some of Wild South’s best volunteers, and they never come out of the woods without leaving it better than they found it. Today they made it out with two tires and a bag of trash after brushing 200 feet of the Linville Gorge Trail near Devil’s Hole.
