Lost in the ‘Land of a Thousand Waterfalls’ by Sid Burgess
The first anniversary of Sid Burgess’s now famous adventure and ultimately successful rescue in the Sipsey Wilderness of north Alabama is April 6. Sid has written the compelling story of the four days and three nights he wandered wet, cold and lost exactly one year ago in the Sipsey Wilderness. We at Wild South are grateful for the positive outcome of those four harrowing days and for every person who participated in Sid’s search and rescue, including Wild South’s Volunteer Wilderness Rangers, and for Sid allowing Wild South to provide a home on our website for his amazing story from which all of us who love and spend time in wild places can learn.
