Mississippi Wilderness Ranger
Kevin is Wild South’s Wilderness Ranger in the DeSoto National Forest in the Black Creek and Leaf Wilderness areas. Born in Texas, his hometown is Hattiesburg, Mississippi where he has resided since the age of eight. Graduating from Oak Grove High School, Kevin studied Political Science at Xavier University and served one year as an intern for United States Senator Sherrod Brown of Ohio. He became involved with Wild South as Wilderness Ranger in the summer of 2012, and returned to the Wilderness in May of 2013. He serves as a stewardship leader to the community, as an integral resource in organizational partnership with the Forest Service, as well as an ambassador for Mississippi’s Wild.
