Photo Contest Winners Announced!!
The day has come to announce the winners for our first annual outdoor photo contest!! The judging process was varied and we hope everyone is satisfied with the results. Stay tuned this time next year for our second annual photo contest!
HONORABLE MENTION
Honorable mention was selected from our finalists. This photo received a considerable amount of votes and represents the public lands of the south.

LANDSCAPE
The landscape finalist was selected by Wild South staff and board members.
Wild South staff and board members gather quarterly for a staff retreat. Our last staff retreat we took time to peruse over the landscape photos and we voted on the finalist.

FLORA
The flora finalist was selected by Charles Seifried.
Charles Seifried has been shooting photography for over 37 years and commercial photography for close to 30 years. His work has been seen in Cooking Light, The Economist, Business Week, Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Home and Garden, Outside, Backpacker, SeaKayaker, Wild South, The Bankhead Monitor and many more publications. He has worked for years in Tourism and Travel for both Alabama and the state of Tennessee.

FAUNA
The fauna finalist was selected by Carl Silverstein.
Carl Silverstein has served as Executive Director of the Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy since 2000. Before that, he worked with the Southern Appalachian Forest Coalition (SAFC). He practiced law in Seattle, Washington, before moving to Asheville in 1995. As a youngster Carl developed an enduring love of the outdoors exploring the woods, creeks, and farms in the outskirts of his hometown, Birmingham, Alabama.

GRAND PRIZE
The grand prize winner was selected by a public voting process. We felt it was very important that the public get involved in the selection process. We had a total of 1,212 votes! Our winner had 168 votes. We were pleased with the diversity and attention that all of the photos received.
