Volunteer work day in Sipsey Wilderness

Project(s) description:

Privet pulling will resume on Sipsey Wilderness Trail #206 (Thompson Creek Trail).  There is also a big blow-down on the trail that will be cut away by our crosscut team.  If enough volunteers sign up, we will send a crosscut team to clear blown-down trees on Trail #207 and #203 as well.

trail 200 privet pull  web size 1-21-12 001Weed wrenches, saws and pulaskis will be used for privet eradication.  All tools will be provided.

Bring a backpack with lunch, snacks, drinking water and work gloves.

Wear sturdy clothing and closed-toe shoes.  Long sleeves and pants to protect against briars and clothing layered for warmth is recommended.

Meet at the Warrior Mountains Trading Company at 11312 AL Hwy. 33, Moulton, AL , intersection of Highways 33 and 36, at 8:30 a.m.  If it’s more convenient, you may meet at the Thompson Creek trailhead (just let us know when you sign up).
