We will hike in 1.1 mile from the eastern end of the trail on the Old Northwest Road and come out the same way, so that’s about 2.2 miles roundtrip.
We will finish brushing out the trail, pruning back encroaching vegetation and removing obstructions from the trailbed. No crosscut work will be done on this day. Tools used will be loppers, hand pruners and hand saws.
Tools will be provided, as will hardhats. Bring your own if you prefer. Wilderness trail work is physically demanding and requires that we carry tools, backpack and gear while hiking and working. It will be hot.
There is a creek crossing about 1/2 mile in and feet will get wet. There will be ticks.
Bring:
- backpack with lunch, snacks and lots of drinking water.
- work gloves
After signing up, meet at the Wild South office in the Warrior Mountains Trading Company at 11312 AL Hwy. 33, Moulton, AL at 8:30 a.m.
Be there or be square!
