Tree planting
This project will take place in the Inman Creek area near Addison in the southern part of Bankhead National Forest where a degraded and eroded site is being restored with native plants and trees. Illegal off-road traffic is a problem and the trees are expected to be a deterrent. Work will be near a road so volunteers will not be walking far.
Bring lunch, snacks, drinking water, work gloves. No need to pack a backpack since project is close to the road.
Let us know if you prefer to meet us at the work site instead of the office.
Thank you to our funders! Wild South’s Helping Hands volunteer program is made possible by our individual donors, by a grant from The National Forest Foundation, a grant from the General Fund of the Walker Area Community Foundation, and by a grant from Legacy.
I have a prior engagement but I would love to help in the future. Will you put me on your mailing list please
Will do, Chris. We usually schedule our Helping Hands projects for the third Saturday of the month, but this month and next month are exceptions. Our March volunteer project will be on the 22nd and will likely be another wilderness privet removal project. You should see something in your Inbox a week or two prior to that. Thanks!
Could you post which trail head and what time to be there?
Thanks!
