Experience the satisfaction of a day of trail maintenance in Sipsey Wilderness! On December 20, we will divide into 2 teams and work on trails 206 and 209. Crosscut sawyers are needed for both teams. If you’re not a certified crosscut sawyer, we need you anyway.
Be prepared to hike at least 6 miles roundtrip carrying tools and performing trail maintenance. Footwear must be appropriate for crossing creeks.
Bring:
- lunch
- drinking water
- snacks
- work gloves
- hard hat if you have one
Wear:
- comfortable clothes for hiking and appropriate layering for weather
- sturdy boots or shoes with good tread
- long pants and sleeves
Be prepared for:
- hiking while carrying all tools and personal gear
- rain, if it’s in the forecast
- Creek crossings
After signing up, meet at the Wild South office within the Warrior Mountains Trading Company (map link in Wild South office above) at 11312 AL Hwy. 33, Moulton, AL at 8:30 a.m. The Warrior Mountains Trading Company is located on Highway 33 at the intersection of Highway 36, 2 miles south of Moulton.
