Wild South’s annual “open house” weekend is a time of celebration, camaraderie and stewardship as we launch into a new year of protection of our wildest places across the southeast!
Friday, January 23
Winter Warmer Party
3809 High Point Drive, Decatur, Alabama
6:00 – 8:30 p.m.
Annual Wild South mid-winter festivities will take place this year in Decatur, Alabama at the home of Wild South members and volunteers Mark and Dena Griffin. Join Wild staff from Alabama and North Carolina for an evening of food, fun and fellowship with other Wild South friends and partners!
Come hungry – food will be provided by Moe’s Original BBQ of downtown Decatur.
Raise a glass of Wild South India Brown Ale, a collaboration between Wild South, French Broad Brewing Company and Asheville Brewing Company, to toast a new year of forest protection!

Saturday, January 24
Helping Hands work day in the Sipsey Wilderness
8:30 a.m.
Privet-pulling on Thompson Creek and a trail maintenance project will be the choices for the Sipsey Wilderness workday.
When the work is finished, stick around for a soiree at the Wild South office – food, drinks, more fun! Can’t come to the work day but want to socialize? Show up at the Wild South office around 4:30.
Wild South staff from Asheville, North Carolina will be with us all weekend.
