wsi

Are you a Wild South Volunteer Wilderness Ranger? If so, the Wilderness Skills Institute is for you.  This premiere learning opportunity brings wilderness stewards from across the region together for two weeks of intensive hands-on learning and education.

Once again the Institute will be hosted in Pisgah National Forest at the Cradle of Forestry in Western North Carolina.  Although the Institute itself is free Wild South wants to support our Rangers in offsetting the cost of travel by offering travel scholarships.

If you are interested in attending this year’s Wilderness Skills Institute please fill out this form ASAP.  If your attendance is contingent on receiving a scholarship please do not register until we confirm your scholarship.  We will work with you to approve these scholarships quickly so that you can reserve your spot.  Keep in mind that the scholarships and registration will be on a first come first serve basis.

If you have questions please contact Ben Prater right away.

    Hi Ben,
I haven’t had a chance to help in the eradication of invasive plants, but i use to work for the park service so i have some experience in the back country of the South Mountains, as well as; hiking in the Blue Ridge. Plus, I need the exercise, and fresh mountain air..So please put my name in the pot for a scholarship for the Wilderness Skills Institute..
